OpenAI Releases o1
OpenAI has released a new series of AI models called o1, which can reason more deeply and has better problem solving capabilities. These new models are particularly well suited for math, science and coding. Some example use-cases which would greatly benefit from this are:
Generating and debugging complex code structures. This would support software developers to identify logic flaws in multi-step algorithms.
o1 has a better ability to adhere to safety rules.
Medical specialists could use o1 to help uncover patterns in medical data and support medical imaging analysis
An Imminent Surveillance State

Oracle founder Larry Ellison said that AI will at some point be incorporated as part of law enforcement network.
He sees a future where every police officer is going to be supervised and AI will be reporting on updates and sending it to appropriate person. The Oracle founder believes that monitoring and surveillance driven by AI could greatly reduce crime.
This highlights a growing trend among big tech to harness AI with which they can influence society.

Deepfakes are digitally manipulated images and videoās which are becoming ever more common, from celebraties to political campaigns. Anyone that remembers Trumpās post on X?
In order to combat this, Abobeās Content Authenticity Initiative (CAI) is promoting the use of Content Credentials. You could see this as a ānutrition-labelā for digital content that verifies when and how a type of media was created or altered.

āļøAI Level Up - Zoom AI Companion
Zoom released itās AI companion back in September 2023. I have been using the AI companion for the last 2 months in primarily the English language and I am surprisingly impressed with itās voice-to-text capabilities. If your job involves having a lot of remote calls and note-taking is key, then the AI Companion is a must-have in your professional toolbox. The three main features I have benefited the most from are:
Summarising meeting note
The AI Companion will generate at the end of the meeting an overview of the topics that were discussed. It will try to separate the topics into different paragraphs in order to group the information in a logical manner. I tend to find that these are 70-80% percent accurate.
Task tracking
This is in my opinion the use-case were the AI Companion excels at the most. Along with the meeting notes, the overview will contain a short section which captures the discussed actions and next steps. It does this in the format of a bulleted list which is easy to read through. Accuracy for this section of the AI generated overview is, most of the time, spot on!
Email follow-ups
The generated overview is send as an email into your inbox. Be sure to always read through the summary as it may contain errors, but after that you should be to copy and paste the content and send it to the meeting participants or just forward it directly :).
Give it a go and let us know how you have experienced using the Zoom AI Companion!
